If they aren’t already known as such, VO2 max, lactate threshold, and exercise economy should be known as “The Big Three” because of the key role each plays in determining endurance performance. But which is most important and how can we train to improve them? This webinar will serve to describe each of the three measures, give different ways to train each, and detail which is most important for endurance performance (the answer may surprise you!).
Todd Buckingham is a 4th year Exercise Physiology PhD candidate at Michigan State University where he teaches undergraduate kinesiology courses and serves as the Human Energy Research Lab Coordinator. Todd is currently working on his dissertation to model and predict triathlon performance. He has authored and co-authored published scientific abstracts and presented his research at regional and national conferences. Todd is also an avid endurance athlete, competing in marathons (personal best of 2:28), triathlons, and the Warrior Dash race series.

USA Triathlon offers a variety of webinars designed specifically for triathlon coaches. Each webinar is approximately 60 minutes in length. Webinars can be purchased for $34.99 each and come with the webinar recording, PowerPoint slides and a 10 question webinar exam. Coaches earn 1 USAT CEU upon passing a webinar exam. A passing score is 80% or higher. Please note, webinar purchases are nonrefundable.
